Racial Income Gap
Source: United States Census Bureau Historical Income Tables F-5
Methodology: The racial income gap was calculated by subtracting the average family income, after adjusting for inflation, of households with a white family origin from the average family income of households with an african american family origin. The difference in the racial income gap was then calculated between the first year that the president took office and the year that the president left office.
